Abide...

I love this quote by Andrew Murray,

"Where there is much prayer, there will be much of the Spirit; where there is much of the Spirit, there will be ever-increasing power."

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great week, the quote above is one of my favorite quotes and here's why - there is so much power and truth behind this statement. So much so that I don't think I would just call it a statement, its a declaration, a proclamation that the more we seek the Holy Spirit not only the closer will we get to Him, but the stronger our faith will become.

I don't know what you have been going through, but what I do know is that God is right there with you even when you can't feel him there. Today I just want to focus on what it means to abide in God's presence. If you look up the word abide it means: to accept, act in accordance, to follow or dwell.

Philippians 3:9 says

"And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law's demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith."

Now let's look at the Hebrew word for abide or dwell which is yashabh, meaning ~ to sit down, remain, inhabit, dwell;

Exodus 25:8 says

“Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them."

When we set aside the time throughout not only our day, but set aside time in life in general to abide in the presence of our Creator, there is nothing sweeter. There is only one person who can give you the peace you need and that is Jesus, and the only way to grow that relationship you have is to abide in him. I'll leave you with this ~ Are you making time to Abide with Christ today? Think about it.

Much love friends,

Alianna
