I Wish I Knew Sooner...

Let's set the scene.... go back in time to when you were a kid. You're day has just started and you are walking into the kitchen looking for a quick breakfast. Life is good most of the time, but as you sit down at the table there is this constant nagging feeling that fills the back of your mind. This little voice that keeps questioning your value, your worth. You tell it to shut up and you try to ignore it... but it's still there.
Fast forward a few years.... now you're an adult. You seem confident and in charge. Life is good. Then one day you're sitting at a coffee shop sipping on a coffee when suddenly you hear that all to familiar voice back to wreak havoc on your mind and spirit. That voice that feeds lie after lie to your spirit, that you're not good enough, smart enough, brave enough. The lie that you are not chosen or anointed. The lie that you are not needed, and the lie that God has not chosen you.
Friend, I just want to pause for a second and remind you that all of those lies are just that. Lies from the enemy. An enemy who seeks to destroy you. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8;
"Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8, NLT).
If you know what I'm talking about, I want to let you know that you are not alone. I've been there friend. It is a dark place to be. Something I wish I knew sooner is that you don't have to stay in that place. There is a way to silence that voice and instead be renewed through the word of God and His unfailing mercy and grace.
When I was walking through cancer and having surgery I found myself constantly hearing that ugly voice in the back of my head. Twisting my thoughts and wreaking havoc on my mind. But, I didn't let it keep its foothold. By using the very words of God we are able to destroy the lies of the enemy. We are able to use the Word of God as a weapon in order to gain freedom from the lies and to silence the voice. Instead, speaking life over ourselves and others. Breaking down strongholds and building a foundation rooted and held firm on Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4, paints a beautiful picture of how we can tear down strongholds in Jesus name.
"We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments" (2 Corinthians 10:4, NLT).
The Word of God and His promises are more than enough to silence the lies of the enemy. So, the next time that voice tries to tell you who you aren't, you remind it who God says you are!
God says:
I am His Child - 2 Corinthians 6:18 (“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty").
I am Chosen - Ephesians 1:4-6 ("Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son").
I am His Workmanship - Ephesians 2:10 ("For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago").
I am Redeemed - 1 Peter 1:18-19 ("For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God" ).
I am a New Person in Christ -2 Corinthians 5:17 ("'This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!")
I am His friend - John 15:15 ("'I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me").
I am His ambassador - 2 Corinthians 5:20 ("'So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”)
I am His Witness - Matthew 5: 13-15 ("' “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house" ).
I am exceedingly Loved - John 15:12 ("This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you").
Next time that ugly voice tries to shows it's face, remind it whose authority you walk in. I wish I knew sooner the authority we carry through the blood of Jesus. I wish I knew sooner that our God is bigger than anything the enemy could ever throw at us.
What a God! Keep walking in your anointing and remember whose authority you walk with.

Much love friends,
Alianna
