During a recent conversation I was reminded of the fact that since the beginning of time our God has been and He will be forevermore. I love the way John phrases it in John 1,
"In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. " - John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word. The word of God is living and active friends, scripture tells us the word of the Lord is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword. He was in the beginning and in and through Him everything that has ever been and ever will be was created. He was there in the beginning and He is still with us now. Friend, it doesn't matter what may be going on around us, our God is the alpha and the omega. The beginning and the end.
He is before all things and through Him all things have there being. Can we just take a second to think about that for a minute. From the beginning of the world, when the foundations of the earth were laid, the Creator of the universe already knew your name and everything about you and He loved you with an everlasting love. A love that was not reliant on terms and conditions, instead it is a gift freely giving. His love and mercy will never fail and it will never let you down.
The passage continues,
"The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it." - John 1:4-5
The darkness can never extinguish the light. God is light and those who belong to Him walk in the light. The light draws us in and captures our attention, it keeps us in its presence. The word of the Lord is like a light guiding our steps along the paths of life. One last scripture before you go,
"May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord." -2 Peter 2
Remember friend, our God was there in the beginning and He is here now. He is before all things and all things have there being in and through Him. What a God! He is good and He is kind and His mercies are new every morning. Remember His goodness friends, and hold on to the promises He has given you.
