Journey to Abiding - Week 15: Embrace the Change

Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Throughout our lives we are constantly growing and changing. As life changes often so do we, we grow and adapt to the changes and go on with life. Something that has been on my mind lately is the concept that we are constantly changing and growing as individuals. Life throws us a curve ball, but we keep going. We embrace the change.

I heard it said once - yesterday's me is still me, today I'm a little wiser then yesterday but I'm still me. Tomorrow I may be a little wiser than today and that is fine I'll still be me. I rather like that concept, it reminds me that as we embrace the changes in life we grow and adapt making us wiser in the end. Life is messy and at times so are we, but in the end we all go through seasons of growth and change that make us who we are.

“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change” -Albert Einstein

I know change can seem scary at first, but really it is a beautiful thing. All throughout our lives we face challenges and changes, if we let ourselves stay frozen in fear then we are doing a disservice to ourselves in the long run. By not allowing ourselves to grow and change we are keeping ourselves locked away.

My prayer for all of us is that we will all learn to embrace the change as it comes. Learn to grow through the challenges and come out wiser and stronger. Scripture tells us we are the workmanship of Christ Jesus, created for good works. My prayer is that we don't hide ourselves away, but the we let ourselves shine before others so that through us God's love will be made known.

Your challenge this week is to face change head on and not hide from it! I pray you'll see the rewards that can come of stepping out and being willing to change!
