Have you ever thought about how within our society we are often expected to be perfect all the time and being real and at times vulnerable is frowned upon? I personally believe that it should be the opposite.
We were never created to be perfect, in fact we were born to be real. I've mentioned this numerous times, but I will say it once again.
You were not born to be perfect, you were born to be real..
This is a concept I will keep saying until, I'm no longer able to because it is so true. We place so much pressure on ourselves to always have every thing together when we are already exactly who we are supposed to be.
We don't have to be perfect to be seen or heard. We just have to be real, and being real means we're not perfect and we are not always okay.
You know what?! It is perfectly okay to not always be okay, in fact its okay to not be okay. I know I say that a lot, but it is only because it is so true. I want to share with you all a quote that I have loved for quite a long time.
"Silence of the heart is necessary so you can hear God everywhere - in the closing of a door, in the person who needs you, in the birds that sing, in the flowers, and even in the animals." - Mother Teresa
Going back to what I mentioned above, it is so important that you understand that it is okay to not be okay. You do not have to be perfect all the time, and if we are being honest it is impossible to be perfect at all times. I love what scripture tells us about being genuine.
"These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold - though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world." - 2 Peter 1:7
I want to challenge all of you to take some time to think about what it is that you are trying to hide behind that mask. Remember you are always enough no matter what the world says around you.
You where never supposed to be perfect, you were born to to real and I want to encourage you to live a real and authentic life! Be you, cause there is no one else in the world just like you and you are always enough!
Never forget that you are always enough!
